Kid Karvings

Wood carvings.  I made these for Christmas last year.  These are the Jackson kids - Bailey and Brady.  I carved them with a Dremel tool in craft wood then painted them white. I thought it would be fun and easy.  It was fun but not easy at all.  I almost broke my Dremel.  And the noise was soooo loud.  I had to go to someone else's house to do it for fear my neighbors in my apartment building would kill me.  It was a simple project in theory.  Just pick photos of the kids.  Draw them on the wood.  Then use the Dremel to cut them out.  They're hanging on a dark purple wall so they really pop off the wall.

1997

Pencil on paper.  I worked on this one for a long time.  This one is about the good times I spent with my best friends back in 1997.  The all night Dr. Mario tournaments.  Watching Cartoon Planet.  Playing sippa on the porch with the speakers in the doorway listening to Sublime.  Southern Comfort (never again!).  Buying rafts at Walmart and paddling to the river.  Living off of Giovanni's.  And much more fun that I won't get into here.  Those were the days.  15 years ago.  Where does the time go?

Thank You, Treesus!

Pencil on paper.  This was a request from my friend Jason.  He and I play disc golf together.  When you throw a disc and it hits a tree AND you're lucky enough to get a good bounce then you say, "Thank you, Treesus".  I know, I know.  It's terrible but he wanted me to draw it for him.  Let the hate mail begin.

Doodles in the Margins #4

Pencil on paper.  I have a huge fear of spiders.  I mean huge.  I tend to freak out when I see a spider.  Profanity and wild arm flinging is abundant.  I even killed one in my apartment with a baseball bat.  A little overkill, you think?  Well I thought I'd try facing my fear and try studying up on spiders.  I decided to draw a few to make me get up close and personal with them.  Did it work?  Hell no!  It only made it worse.  Now I have actual facts to back up my irrational fear.

Give Me A Hand

Pencil on paper.  When you have nothing to draw go to the good old standby.  Every art teacher I ever had made me draw my hand.  Even in grade school they liked to torture us with this exercise.  It's good practice I guess.  Looking for some inspiration...

Coming soon!

Sorry about the hiatus. We've been very busy working for the man. I'll be adding some more art soon. I've recently found a bunch of drawings from back in the day to add. I mean WAY back. It will be fun to share these. Be back soon!
